Amanda Kowalski sings lead and harmony and plays acoustic bass. A dynamic performer, she entertains with excitement and sensitivity to the groove.

Originally from Wheeling West Virginia, Amanda began studying classical string bass performance at the age of nine. Inspired by a bluegrass music loving uncle, she became involved in several regional bands and recording projects, winning a soloist position in the 1998 West Virginia Honors Recital. Amanda was a member of the award-winning Wheeling Park High School Bluegrass Band, the All-State Youth Orchestra and attended the West Virginia Governor’s School For The Arts.

Amanda now records and is based in the Nashville area. A rock-solid, high-energy bassist, Amanda will entertain you with her creative instrumental performance and vocals, alike. She performs in and out of Nashville with various artists and has played shows in Sweden with Keith Little and Patty Mitchell. When she’s not playing with The Bob Smiley Band you’ll often finder her performing with the Old Time, Roots band Uncle Earl.
